Who does Storyhouse work with?
We partner with thought leaders, visionaries, experts, and storytellers who have something meaningful to say—and are ready to shape it into a book with lasting cultural impact. Some clients come to us with a fully formed concept. Others arrive with a body of work, a powerful story, or the feeling that there is a book inside them, but they need help finding its clearest and most compelling form.
Do I need to have a book idea before reaching out?
Not necessarily. You may have a working concept, several competing ideas, or simply a body of work you know could become a book. We help uncover the most resonant idea, sharpen its positioning, and determine the strongest path forward.
Do I need a large platform?
Not always. Platform matters in traditional publishing, but size is only one part of the equation. Publishers also consider the strength and timeliness of the idea, the author’s authority and network, the audience’s level of engagement, and so on. We’ll offer an honest assessment of where you stand and what may need to be strengthened.
What kinds of books do you specialize in?
Our deepest expertise is in idea-driven nonfiction, memoir, personal development, psychology, wellness, leadership, and books that challenge dominant cultural narratives. Above all, we look for books with a clear point of view, a compelling reason to exist, and the potential to start meaningful conversations.
Can you help me find a literary agent or publisher?
For select proposal clients, we make strategic introductions to literary agents when the project is ready. We do not serve as literary agents or guarantee representation or a publishing deal, but we help position each project to have the strongest possible chance.
Do you guarantee a book deal?
We cannot control how agents or publishers will respond, but we only take on projects that we deeply believe in. What we can promise is discerning strategy, honest feedback, exceptional editorial care, and a process grounded in what makes books resonate with both readers and the publishing industry.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary depending on the project and level of support. Proposal partnerships typically unfold over several months, while book coaching and advisory relationships can be long-term, and tailored to the author’s goals, publishing timeline, and creative process.
What if I'm not ready for a book deal yet?
Through our advisory, we can also work with you to build the ecosystem around your big idea—clarifying your message, nurturing your community, growing your platform, developing aligned revenue streams, and deciding which opportunities deserve your attention. The goal is to build a body of work and a brand that can support a meaningful book when the timing is right.
How do we begin?
